William Harvey “Butch” Hanson, of Greensburg, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at Green River Trails Rehab & Care. He was 73.
He was born on December 25, 1951, in Harford County, MD to the late William Mark Hanson, Sr. and Milba Marie Starcher Hanson. Bill was a former maintenance worker at a condominium located in Alexandria, VA, for several years. When he was younger, he enjoyed carpentry, working as an electrician and plumber. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his son, Allen Hanson of Wilmington, NC; his daughter, Karen Mobley of Greenville, NC; his brothers, William Mark Hanson, Jr. (and Kaye) and Richard Allen Hanson, both of Columbia, KY; his sisters, Janet Wolfe of Pennsylvania and Elizabeth Ann St. Clair of Columbia, KY; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by a brother, Charles Michael Hanson.
Cremation rites were honored. There will be no services at this time.
