Velma Faye Bastin

Velma Faye Bastin, previously from Casey County, passed away on Monday, June 17, 2019, at IU Health Tipton Hospital in Tipton, Indiana. She was 81.
Born on March 19, 1938 in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Ora and Mary Wall Napier. Velma was a homemaker. She was raised in Grove Ridge Baptist Church. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. 
She is survived by her son, Jimmy (Melody) Patterson of Elwood, Indiana; four grandchildren, James DeLong, Jasmine DeLong, Lacie Bailey and Jamie Dennison; and three great-grandchildren, Hayden Watters, Liam Street and Fenix Bailey. Other survivors include step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. 
Velma is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell E. Bastin; a daughter, Valerie DeLong; a brother, Vernon Napier; and three sisters, Vivian Kraft, Violet Fraley and Vernice Martin. 
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 21, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Brad King officiating. Burial will follow in Salyers Cemetery. 
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 20, 2019, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
