Tony Pettit, age 63, passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021, at his residence.
Born June 19, 1957, in Louisville, KY, he was a son of Sandra Esterle Campbell and the late Bruce Branson. Tony was a retired safety patrol officer for the Kentucky Department of Transportation. He loved to sing, cooking, cookouts, going to the beach, and fishing. Tony was also an avid UK fan.
Survivors include his wife, Marietta Corn Pettit, whom he wed on June 7, 2016; son, T.J. Pettit of Louisville; daughters, Amber (and Travis) Ott and Melissa (and Mark) Deaton, both of Georgetown; mother, Sandra Esterle Campbell of Georgia; step-mother, Margaret Branson of Louisville; brothers, Greg (and Jane) Pettit, David (and Carol) Branson, Danny Branson, and Ray Hardin; sisters, Angie West, Sandy Garrett, Tammy (and Tim) Johnson, Amanda (and Robert) Wynn, and Toni Hardin; 10 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Bruce’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Bro. Chris Hatter and Bro. Mark Deaton officiating. Burial will follow in the Corn-Wilham-Sallee Cemetery. Facial coverings are required for the funeral.
Visitation will be from 5-8PM on Monday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 1PM until 2PM on Tuesday at the Church.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Simpson, Matthew and Kyle Ott, Nikolas and Nathan Pettit, and Elijah Deaton. Honorary pallbearers will be his granddaughters and nieces.
Memorial contributions are suggested to help the family offset funeral expenses.
