Timothy "Tim" Underwood Obituary

Timothy “Tim” Allen Underwood, of Harrodsburg, passed away Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 63.

Born on May 12, 1962, in Boyle County, Kentucky, he was the son of the late John Thomas “J.T” Underwood, Jr. and Della Mae Bradley Underwood. Timothy retired from Hitachi where he worked in the warehouse. He previously delivered newspapers for The Courier Journal for 10 years and worked for Domino’s and Papa John’s where he made many pizzas.  Timothy loved his 2018 Camaro and was a member of Bourbon City Camaro Club. He enjoyed taking vacations, boating, camping and collecting guns. He loved to spend time with his family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tim was a very hardworking man.

Timothy is survived by his companion of 16 years, Stephanie Simpson of Harrodsburg;  two daughters, Tanya (and Todd) Stevens of Harrodsburg and Amanda Thomas of Frankfort; a son, Chris (and Casey) Simpson of Elizabethtown; three brothers, Terry (and Rosemary) Underwood of Junction City, Brad (and Sherry) Underwood of Eubank and Michael (and Bianca) Underwood of Simpsonville; one sister, Melissa (and Owen) Hodge of Waynesburg; seven grandchildren, Tristan Cloyd, Tanner (and Sabrina) Cloyd, Alyssa Underwood, Braylen Simpson, Camden Simpson, Ethan Stevens and McKenna Stevens; and two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Adelyn Cloyd.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Nina Wethington Underwood, and his son, Jonathan Underwood.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jeremiah Yocom officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Tanner Cloyd, Ethan Stevens, Jonathan “Cameron” White, Terry Underwood, Michael Underwood, Bradley Underwood and Chris Simpson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Hall and Tristan Cloyd.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and after 8:00 A.M. Monday until the time of service.
