Terry Alan Wethington

Terry Alan Wethington, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at his home. He was 76.

Born on June 29, 1949, in Taylor County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late William Alton “Bill Mark” Wethington and Gracie Christine Wethington. Terry was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, pitching horseshoes and most of all, spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having honorably served for twenty-two years.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Patten Wethington, who he wed on December 28, 1973; two daughters, Tiara (and Tracy) McCarol of Liberty and Kimberly Wethington of Moreland; two grandchildren, Sara (and Chansey Whited) Knifley and Kenan Knifley; one great-grandchild, Adelynn Carol Whited; three brothers, Joseph “Joey” (and Belinda) Wethington, Robert “Robin” (and Syrilla) Wethington, and Kevin (and Anna Jean) Wethington, all of Liberty; a sister, Arlene (and Stan) Cohen of Seattle, WA; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Whitt of Ohio; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, William “Billy” Ray Wethington, Ronald Wethington, and Larry Michael Wethington; and four sisters, Sandra Wolford, Brenda Wethington, Julita Patten, and Barbara Whitt.

The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Jinto Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, April 24, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held at 7:00 P.M.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Wethington, Robin Wethington, Chris Patten, Kenan Knifley, Jeff Patten, and Ricky Patten. Joey Wethington will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
