Ruth Ann Luttrell, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at her home. She was 82.
Born on November 2, 1942, in Cincinnati, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Vernon Hubert Richardson and Eva Lee Tuttle Richardson. Ruth was the owner and operator of Ruthie’s Diner in Yosemite for 5+ years. She also spent numerous years working at OshKosh as a cook. She was known for being a hard worker with never-ending determination, grit, and grace. She loved canning, cooking, music, and playing card games, especially Rook. Ruth also had a green thumb and enjoyed her flowers. Above all, she loved her grandchildren, and it brought great joy to her life to sing with them and teach them.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Larry Ray Luttrell, Jr. of Yosemite and Dennis Luttrell of Liberty; a daughter, Loretta Luttrell of Middleburg; seven grandchildren, Aaron, Zachary, Kameron, Cruiz, Kyle, Danielle, and Kyra; and two great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Adelyn.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Larry Ray Luttrell, Sr., who passed away on December 10, 2004; a daughter, Teresa Raney; three brothers, Vernon Richardson, Eugene Richardson, and Larry Richardson; and three sisters, Cleda Buck, Anna Bruce Girdler, and Bonnie Rhodes.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Don Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 1:00 P.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 12, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
