Roy E. Rodgers, of Cincinnati, OH, formerly of Casey County, passed away on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, in Cincinnati. He was 74.
Born September 16, 1947, in Campbellsville, KY, he was the son of the Ira Rodgers and Nora Murphy Rodgers Evans. Roy worked for many years with his twin brother Ray at Rodgers Drywall. He enjoyed golfing, being with friends, and playing with his grandchildren. Roy was a US Army veteran.
Survivors include his dear wife, June Wethington Rodgers, whom he wed on January 3, 1970; son, Roy Glenn Rodgers of Indiana; grandsons, Tyler Rodgers, Justin Rodgers, and Jordan Garcia; granddaughter, Gracie Rodgers; great-granddaughters, Gemma, Belle, and Mia Rodgers; brother, Russell (Debbie) Evans of Indiana; sisters, Mary (Leroy) Fluke of Oklahoma, Joy (Harvey) Weaver of Indiana, Pam Sanders of Indiana, Sandra (Brad) Owens of Indiana, Mary (Ron Patterson) Plummer of Indiana, and Kim (Charles) Wiley of Indiana; best friends, Frank and Terri Petri of Indiana; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members also survive.
Roy was preceded in death by his twin brother, Ray Rodgers and a sister, Patricia “Pat” Wethington.
A mass of funeral services will be held at 11:00AM Monday, January 10, 2022, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father George Otuma officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Bernard Cemetery with military funeral honors by the Casey County Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 4-7PM Sunday, January 9, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with prayer service at 6:00PM.
