Pauline “Polly” Monday, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Liberty Care Center. She was 84.
Born on July 8, 1941, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Clara Grant Scherrer. Pauline was the oldest living member of Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church. Throughout her life she worked on the farm, at a sawmill, sewing factory, and Therapedic Mattress Company.
Polly is survived by a son, Lee (Kim) Monday of Columbia; a daughter, Jenny (Kevin) Wallace of Liberty; nine grandchildren; fifteen great- grandchildren; a sister, Sheila Clements of Campbellsville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Carl Monday, who passed away on January 15, 2016; a daughter, Carla Monday; two great-grandchildren, Matthew Rylan Lynn and Maverick Colt Winans; a brother, Charles Lee Scherrer; and two sisters, Doris Scherrer and Joyce Hyden.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Shady Grove Separate Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Bryant officiating.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 11, 2025.
