Paul McKinney Obituary

Paul David McKinney, of Middleburg, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 70.

Born on September 7, 1951, in Jackson, Tennessee, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Nora Kelly McKinney. Paul was formerly a road grader for the County Road Department in Fernandina Beach, Florida.

He can best be described as living his life as a good Christian husband and father who loved his job as being a “PawPaw.” He enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting knives, carving walking canes, and playing video games with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed going on nature walks with his family.

Paul is survived by his loving wife, Lola Hayes McKinney; three sons, Carey (Samantha) McKinney of Liberty, David (Kris) McKinney of Spanaway, Washington, and Benjamin McKinney of Middleburg; grandchildren, Alyssa, Tristan, Dylan, Grayci, Elijah, Tyler, Nathan, Danielle, Landon, and Mikey; a sister, Shirley McKay of Tennessee; and two brothers, Don (Glenda) McKinney of Georgia and Jerry McKinney of Tennessee.

He is preceded in death by two sisters, Helen Nelson and Nadine Hall; and two brothers, James McKinney and Steve McKinney.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro John Bennett officiating. Cremation rites will follow. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 4, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
