Paul Anthony Goebel, 83, of Louisville, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026.
Paul was born in Louisville to the late Gilbert and Martha Goebel and was a 1960 graduate at Trinity High School.
He graduated with a bachelor’s from the University of Louisville and worked for over 30 years at General Electric as an engineer. Paul was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, Council #15525, and enjoyed fishing and playing golf. He was a veteran of the United States Navy.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 56 years, Wilma Pauline “Po” Goebel; parents; brother, Gilbert Goebel, Jr.; and sister, Barbara Abney.
Carrying on Paul’s legacy are his children, Greg Goebel (Gretchen Finniff) and Camille Kalmey (Pete); grandchildren, Chace and Crew Kalmey and Aidan, Declan, and Cormac; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass for Paul will be at 10AM on Monday, March 30 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 3705 Stone Lakes Drive. Visitation will be from 3-7PM on Sunday, March 29 at Ratterman & Sons Funeral Home, 10600 Taylorsville Road and on Monday from 2-3PM at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 5075 State Highway 551 Liberty, Kentucky. A graveside service will be held at 3PM on Monday at St. Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery (Liberty, KY).
