Obituary
Nina Sue Roy Thomas, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2021, at her residence. She was 86.
Born June 14, 1934, in Casey County, KY, she was a daughter of the late Winslow and Vina Southerland Roy. Nina was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Nina was a member of First Baptist Church of Liberty where she was in the choir. She enjoyed playing cards at the Senior Citizens Center, singing and traveling. Nina was an avid UK fan.
Survivors include her son, Berlin Thomas of Jacksonville, FL; and 2 great-grandchildren, Lily Sue and Lauren Marie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth G. Thomas; son, Dwight Thomas; brothers, Berlin, Walt, Paul, and Roger Roy; sisters, Lotus Pike, Okra Dale Clark, and Virginia Olson; and granddaughter, Jennifer Varnado.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on Monday, February 1, 2021, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Birdie Russell Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00AM until 1:00PM on Monday at the funeral home. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings ARE required.
