Mildred Faye Grider, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 96.
Born on May 15, 1928, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Harrison David and Lena Bertha Helm Lawson. Faye formerly worked for Social Services, Liberty Sportswear, and WKDO. She was a member of Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church.
She is survived by daughters, Brenda Ellison of Moreland, Nancye Ayn of Somerset, and Deborah (Ronnie) Durham of Campbellsville; half-brother, David Lawson of Lawrenceburg; half-sisters, Jewell Colly of Florence, Joyce Wilhoite of Liberty, and Bonita Wilson of Liberty; twelve grandchildren, Ricky, Carla, Sarah, Lindsey, Andrea, James, Gary Todd, Stasi, Jason, Susie, Natasha, and Sam; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sons, Garry Lee Grider, Danny Dale “Butch” Grider, Vernon Grider, Jr., and Jeffrey Andrew Grider; daughter, Louise Wesley; sons-in-law, Daniel Troy South, Craig Mages, and Barry Ellison; brothers, Hubert Howard Lawson, Hershel Ray Lawson, and Herman L. Lawson; half-brothers, Hollis Lawson and Johnny Lawson; sisters, Ida Belle Lay, Dorothy Mae Lawson, and Mossie B. “Mickey” Frederiksen; half-sisters, Bessie Brand and Lola Wilhoite; grandchildren, Matthew and Timmy; and great-granddaughter, Maddie.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jordan Gragg and Bro. Rodney Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Fair Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 8:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 24, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.
