Mildred Phillips, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2026, at Casey County Hospital. She was 94.
Born on March 9, 1932, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Jess and Gladys Lee Johnson. Mildred was a dedicated caregiver and babysitter. She liked to read and enjoyed doing word search and jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by a daughter, Vickie (and Billy) Luttrell; granddaughters, Stacey (and Ricky) Smith and Melinda (and Justin) Foster; great-grandchildren, Brooklyn (and Tyler Hayes) Vaughn, Caitlynn (and Jon Denson) Smith, Megan (and Alec) Hillard, Austin Foster, Molly Foster, Jacob (and Jenny) Smith, and Rachael Smith; and great-great-grandchildren, Paisley, Madilynn, Hudson, Creed, Bo, Ty, and three on the way. Other survivors include a sister, Lillian Faye Wethington; sisters-in-law, Nancy Johnson and Zena Santiago; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers, Milton (and Rudell) Johnson, Fred Johnson, and David Johnson; and great-grandsons, Keith Wethington and Brian Johnson.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
