Merle Gene Grant, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2024. He was 80.
Born on July 12, 1943, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Shelby D. and Pauline M. Ellis Grant. He was a United States Army veteran. Merle attended Mt. Pleasant Church. He was a very giving man who always tried to help others. His favorite saying was, “it is what it is!”
He is survived by a son, Adam Grant; a daughter, Eva Hatfield; a sister, Shirley (Ronald) Helm of Liberty; and two grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Grant.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Camp Nelson National Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.
