Marilyn Morgan Jeffries, age 72, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022, at Harrodsburg Health and Rehabilitation.
Born September 19,1949, in Danville, KY, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Elsie Godsey Morgan. Marilyn was a retired school teacher. She taught special education for many years, having worked at Liberty Middle School and Phillips Elementary. Marilyn obtained her Bachelor’s Degree from Campbellsville University and her Masters and Rank I both from EKU. She loved her students and also her grandchildren. Marilyn was a member of the Knifley Christian Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Jennifer (Mitch) Phillips of Liberty and Jessica (Brad) Mattingly of Lawrenceburg; brother, Randall (Nancy) Morgan of Trenton, KY; eight grandchildren, Chase Cruse, Hallie Kate Phillips, Lincoln Phillips, Drake Cruse, Kaitlin Phillips, Kennedy Phillips, Emorie Mattingly, and Eliana Mattingly; two great-grandchildren, Carson and Avery; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Paul Jeffries, who passed away on September 21, 2021; and a granddaughter, Eden Hope Mattingly.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackelford officiating. Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
