Marguerite Cummins Overstreet

Marguerite Cummins Overstreet, of Danville, formerly of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, in Lexington, Kentucky. She was 86.

Born October 30, 1937, in Casey County, Kentucky she was the daughter of Millie Emerson Murphy and the late Hillary Ray Murphy. She was a homemaker and a seamstress. Marguerite was a former consultant for Princess House Crystal and enjoyed yard sales. She was a member of Westside Christian Church.

Marguerite is survived by her mother, Millie Emerson Murphy; her daughters, Carla (Larry) Simpson of Stanford, and Trena (the late Vernon) Rogers of Perryville; two grandchildren, Megan (Andrew Vanhook) Simpson and Matt (Meagan) Simpson; as well as two great-grandchildren, Julie and Harper.  

In addition to her father, Marguerite is preceded in death by her husbands, John Cummins and Russell Overstreet, and her sister, Jewell Land.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Bro. Marty Shackleford will officiate. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery. A visitation will be held Friday, November 24, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
