Marcella Jane Maupin

Marcella Jane Maupin, of Liberty, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 76.

Born on January 10, 1948, in Liberty, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Clyde and Marie McBeath Bowmer.

Marcella was a homemaker and helped raise all her grandchildren. She loved planting flowers and collecting pottery and antiques. She was a member of Poplar Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Bobby Joe Maupin, who she wed on July 20, 1968; two daughters, Tonia Lawhorn and Dana Maupin, both of Liberty; seven grandchildren, Kayla Lawhorn, Paige (and Brad) Bunch, Blake Lawhorn, Tristan Lawhorn, Draven Lawhorn, Blade Nuckols, and Isaiah Penman; four great-grandchildren, Callie, Phoenix, Brody, and Carson; three sisters, Alice Faye Smith, Margaret Ann Hale, and Julia Ann Land; and one brother, Larry (and Rosina) Bowmer.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by one brother, Freddie Bowmer.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday, July 19, 2024, at Poplar Springs Baptist Church.  

Pallbearers will be: Blake Lawhorn, Tristan Lawhorn, Isaiah Penman, Blade Nuckols, Dillan Coffey, and Brad Bunch.
