Marcella Clements, of Liberty, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the University of Kentucky Bluegrass Care Center. She was 88.

Born on October 11, 1936, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late William Virgil and Ebbie Hicks Long. Marcella was a homemaker and seamstress, formerly working at both Liberty Sportswear and OshKosh. She also formerly worked at McDonald’s for ten years and loved her job there. She was a member of Creston Missionary Baptist Church. Marcella loved her children and grandchildren, gardening, and caring for her flowers.

She is survived by children, Danny Ray (Barb) Clements of Liberty, Brenda (Tom) Wethington of Columbia, Patty Clements of Harrodsburg, Keith (Tammy) Clements of Green County, and Clyde Dwayne (Andrea) Clements of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Kristie, Justin, Angie, Amy, Kevin, Ashley, Rachel, Keeton, McKenzie, Raven, Shelbie, and Clyde Jr.; and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Clements, who passed away on November 9, 1990; grandchildren, Maddie Brockman and Austin Tyler Wethington; brothers, Marshall Long, David Long, Vatis Long, Vitus Long, Eddie Long, Jesse Long, and William Long; and three sisters, Geraldine “Gerry” Grant”, Violet Adams, and Kathleen Campbell.

The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Creston Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Gum Lick Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at Creston Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Clyde Clements, Dwayne Clements, Justin Clements, Kevin Wethington, Keeton Clements, and Austin Barringer.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Casey County Veteran’s Honor Guard c/o Danny Clements at 457 Elm Dr., Liberty, KY 42539.
