Mabel Brown Latham Obituary

Mabel Brown Latham, of Yosemite, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Jean Waddle Care Center in Somerset. She was 94.

Born on October 30, 1929, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late George A. and Juda Durham Hatter. Mabel was a nurse for thirty-six years. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by a son, Charles Michael (the late Marsha) Brown of Hustonville; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul Hatter; and a sister, Hartese Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Herman L. Brown, Sr. and William Latham; two sons, Herman Lester Brown, Jr. and Richard “Rick” Brown; two grandchildren, Kimberly Dawn Brown and Wayne Allen Brown; a great-grandson, Ryan Brown; and four sisters, Jewel “City” Williams, Mildred Toms, Norma Milburn, and Anna Joan Woodrum.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Wayne Naylor officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
