Luther "Luke" Daniel

Luther “Luke” Russell Daniel, of Adair County, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at T.J Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was 67.

He was born on December 29, 1957, in Casey County to Iola Lawson Daniel and the late Oda Lee Daniel.

Luke was an entrepreneur. His favorite past time was going to Somerset on the weekends and setting up at the Flea Market. He enjoyed playing bingo, trading vehicles and spending time with family and friends. Luke was loved and remembered by everyone in a special way.

He is preceded in death by his father Oda; a brother, Dannie Daniel; a sister, Ramona Franklin; and two infant sisters, Betsy and Julie.

Luke is survived by his mother, Iola Lawson Andrew (and Kermus) of Columbia; four sisters, Kaye Shell of Dunnville, Joyce Strunk (and Roger) of Stearns, Doris Dabney of Somerset and Susie Franklin (and Danny) of Columbia; his daughter Gracie Collett, of Liberty; a special friend Vonna Daniel, of Columbia, and her children April, Virgil, Bonna and Benny; and three grandchildren. Luke leaves behind a host of many nieces and nephews, who loved him dearly.

Funeral services will be 2:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating.  Burial will follow in Thomas Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 12:00PM to 2:00PM Sunday, February 23, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses.
