Lora Tarter

Ms. Lora Tarter, of Liberty, passed from this life on Friday, September 1, 2023, at Casey County Hospital.  She was 80 years of age.

Ms. Lora was born May 29, 1929, in Casey County, daughter of the late Mitchell and Mary Copley Tarter.  She did farmwork all her life.  Lora enjoyed picking blackberries and going to dig for ginseng.  She loved animals.

She is survived by her daughter, Louetta Tarter, of Liberty.

Along with her parents, Ms. Lora is preceded in death by her brother, James Tarter; and her sister, Mildred Tarter.

Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Sunday, September 3, 2023, at Old Contown Cemetery with Bro. Larry Luttrell officiating.  Interment will follow in Old Contown Cemetery.

Visitation will be held after 1:30 p.m., Sunday, until time for funeral services at the cemetery.
