Lewis Brown, of Danville (formerly of Liberty), passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2020, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 84.
Born on September 27, 1935, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Roosevelt and Elzie Lawless Brown. Lewis was self-employed and operated Brown Brothers Home Improvement. He was a member, deacon, and Sunday school teacher at Walnut Hill Separate Baptist Church. Lewis was also a member of Brown Brothers Quartet. He was a prayer warrior and loved his dogs. He was a former member of the Gideons, as well.
He is survived by his wife, Sarah Evelyn Wardrip Brown of Liberty, who he wed on March 20, 1955; a son, Dwayne (Kelly Rae) Brown of Danville; five grandchildren, Kelly Ann, Keith, Manning, Brandon, and Maasak; and twelve great- grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Kim Brown Angel; a sister, Opal Atwood; and four brothers, Ernest Brown, Marvin Brown, Lester Brown, and Otha Brown.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Rodney Smith and Bro. Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial will follow in Casey County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers for Lewis will be: Gaige Biggs, Marion Farthing, Manning Tagarook, Keith Brown, Dwayne Brown, Dewey Coffey, Danny Bailey, and Mike Hatter.
