Lavern Peavey True, of Lexington, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Baptist Health Lexington. She was 90.
She was born in Casey County, KY on March 20, 1935, to the late Bill and Tommie Wooley Peavey. Lavern was a professional painter and painted many houses and businesses that her husband, Harry had built. She was a member of Highlands Baptist Church in Lexington and a former member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church in Liberty. Lavern loved spending time with her grandsons.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Harry True, who passed away in 1990; her brothers, Leland and John Peavey; and her sister, Frances Bowling.
Lavern is survived by her daughter, Nikki Falconbury (and David) of Lexington; her grandsons, Joshua Falconbury and Jacob Falconbury; her sister, Margaret Murphy of Liberty; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Tim Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Falconbury, Jacob Falconbury, Barry Murphy, Oakley Davidson, Jacob Ritchey and Dustin Vanderpool.
The family will receive visitors from 11:00AM to 1:00PM Friday, October 10, 2025, at the funeral home.
