Kenneth Lay, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2022, in Hustonville. He was 85.
Born on June 15, 1936, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Elliott and Cora Atwood Lay. Kenneth was a member of Carr’s Chapel First Church of God where he was a former song leader. He loved wittling, landscaping, singing, and most of all, he loved the Lord. He had been saved for fifty-six years.
Kenneth is survived by three sons, Timothy Earl Lay of Danville, Troy Eugene (Katie) Lay of Harrodsburg, and Tony (Karen) Lay of Hustonville; seven grandchildren, Jeremy, Ryan, Daniel, Christopher, Megan, Josh, and Andy; two great-grandchildren; a brother, William “Bill” Lay of Ft. Wayne, Indiana; and a sister, Evelyn Edwards of Liberty.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife who passed two weeks before him, Martha Houston Lay; a son, Mark Douglas Lay; brothers, Royce Lay, Howard Lee Lay, Junior Lay, Hubert Lay, and Herbert Lay; and sisters, Patsy Atwood, Betty Morris, and Ila Terrell.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Doug Roberts and Bro. Richard Lehman officiating. Burial will follow in Caney Fork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Barlow, Ralph Mondie, Christopher Lay, Tony Lay, Troy Lay, and Tim Lay.
