June Phelps, of Yosemite, passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2025, at the Casey County Hospital. She was 81.
Born on June 3, 1944, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Raymond Goforth and Lou Adams Goforth. June loved to attend and was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She was a retired payroll clerk for the Casey County Board of Education and worked as a teacher’s aide for Middleburg Elementary from 1966-1969. June liked to make new friends via Facebook. She enjoyed reading her bible, farming in her earlier years and watching races at the racetrack with her husband, Oakley. June truly had a love for everyone.
She is survived by her son, James (and Teresa) Phelps of Campbellsville; two brothers, Mickey (and Debbie) Goforth of Waynesburg and Joe Goforth of Yosemite; two sisters, Linda (and Travas) Cochran of Cincinnati and Louise (and Sherman) Hatter of Yosemite; two grandchildren, Adam (and Veronica) Phelps and Jesse Phelps, both of Campbellsville; and a great-granddaughter, Mercy Phelps.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Oakley Phelps.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Ronnie Haste officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and after 8:00 A.M. until time of service on Thursday, November 20, 2025.
