Judy Gail Huegel, of Casey County, passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Casey County Hospital. She was 78.
Born January 4, 1947, in Danville, KY, she was a daughter of the late Charles E. Pierce and Opal Taylor Thompson. Judy was retired from Rockwell defense department in California. She enjoyed gardening and raising children including fostering 36 children. Judy loved all of her children and grandchildren very much.
Survivors include her husband, Lloyd Huegel, whom she married on May 28, 1988; daughters, Heather Nicole Garrett of Lincoln County and Shannon Renee Maxwell of California; brothers, Jerry (and Sharon) Pierce of Liberty and David (and Barbara) Pierce of Hustonville; 5 grandchildren, Sadie Love (Jacob) Grabowski, Tegan Delaney Hooker, Jace (McKenzi) Jikutz, Mike Adams, and Zachariah Matsumoto; and 6 great-grandchildren, Charlie, Riverly, Wyatt, Walker, Warren, and Wren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Steven Dwain Pierce; sister, Delinda Johnson; and granddaughter, Taylor Lynae Merriman.
Funeral services will be at 1:00PM Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Shackleford officiating. Burial will follow in the Heart Song Cemetery on their family farm. Visitation will be from 5-8PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jace Jikutz, Tegan Hooker, Michael Pierce, Jacob Flannery, Hunter Pierce, and Edward Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry, David, and Chris Pierce.
