Mr. John Robert Price, of Liberty, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Thursday, February 19, 2026. He was 50 years, 11 months, and 25 days young.
Born on February 25, 1975, in Savannah, Georgia, he was the son of Dr. John and Terry Watson Price of Liberty. John obtained his B.S. at Lindsey Wilson College and his master’s in education at Georgetown University. He was working toward his Rank 1 at the time of his passing. John dearly loved his position as science teacher at Mercer County Senior High and his students meant the world to him. Above all, he loved his son and daughter and took great joy in their lives. John was a part of the 1993 Casey County High School state tournament team and played baseball and golf as well. He was a basketball and little league baseball coach for his son, and coached softball for his daughter. John loved playing guitar, watching Formula One, riding his four-wheeler and being a special part of his nieces’ and nephews’ lives. Family was everything to him. John attended Southland Christian Church at the Danville campus and gave his life to Christ at an early age.
In addition to his parents, John is survived by two children, Jax and Mia Price; his brother, Jason (Charity) Price of Wilmore; his sister, Kelly Forbes of Liberty; his nieces and nephews, Hogan, Talley, Mae, and Jase Price and Elizabeth, Luca and Elyn Forbes; and his girlfriend, Russelle Ubas of Elizabethtown.
