John Melvin Bump, Jr.

John Melvin Bump, Jr., of Mayer, MN, passed away suddenly Monday, July 15, 2024, at Casey County Hospital in Liberty, KY.  He was 53.

John was born July 5, 1971, in Philadelphia, PA to the late John Melvin Bump, Sr. and Marianne Fedder Bump. He was a senior direct examination technician with Lake Superior Consulting. During his working career, he lived in Sioux Falls, SD and Hutchinson, MN. John was a Catholic and loved his kitty cats and doggies, Herbie, Gizmo, Cooper and Riley.  His favorite buddy, was Gizmo.

He is preceded in death by his father, John Melvin Bump, Sr.

John is survived by his loving wife, Leslie Skogrand Bump of Mayer, MN; his son, Mitchell Bump (and Kayla) of Sioux Falls, SD; his mother, Marianne Fedder Bump of Madison, SD; his stepsons, Michael Meis of Mayer, MN and Matthew Meis of New Ulm, MN; his stepdaughter, Allison Meis (and Durke) of Granite Falls, MN; his sister, Shellie Eich of Madison, SD; his five grandchildren, Mari, Lorelai, Louis, Eloise and Fynnigan; and a special aunt, Bernadette Nagy (and Bob) of Pennsylvania.

At John’s request, cremation was chosen. Services will be announced at a later time and date.
