Jennifer "Jenny" Sue Durham

Jennifer “Jenny” Sue Durham, of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. She was 52.

Born on April 18, 1972, in Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Ansel Murrell Byrd and Anita June Ellison Byrd. Jenny graduated from Casey County High School where she enjoyed playing basketball as a Lady Rebel, then later went on to graduate from Centre College with a bachelor’s degree, finishing with her Rank 1 at Eastern Kentucky University. She was retired from Lincoln County High School after sixteen years of teaching twelfth grade English. She enjoyed reading, being outdoors, spending time with her animals, and old cars. She was an avid UK fan.

Jenny is survived by her husband, Stanley Durham, who she wed on July 26, 2004; a sister, Jacqueline (Kenneth) McCormick; a brother, Michael (Sharla) Byrd; a step-daughter, Lori Leber; a step-grandchild, Riley Leber; a niece, Devon Watson; two nephews, Michael Corey Byrd and Dylan McCormick; and a host of other family members.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in offsetting funeral expenses.
