James “Russell” Wethington, of Clementsville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Liberty Care Center. He was 71.
Born on February 23, 1954, in Lebanon, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Harvey Glen and Edith Woodrum Wethington. Russell was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church. He could tinker with and fix anything, especially lawn mowers and weed eaters. He loved farming and working in tobacco and also formerly worked at Wolford and Wethington sawmill. Russell was a very kind-hearted person and would give anyone the shirt off his back with no questions asked.
Russell is survived by two sisters, June Rodgers of Cincinnati and Barb (Danny) Clements of Liberty; a brother, Joe (Mary Ann) Wethington of Cincinnati; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by six sisters, Iona Wethington, Dottie Cox, Clementine Foster, Arlene Brown, Judy Newton, and Patty Wethington; and three brothers, Bill Wethington, Ronnie Wethington, and Danny Wethington.
The funeral mass will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Jinto Thomas officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
