James Quincy Emerson

James Quincy Emerson, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2024, at his home. He was 46.

Born on April 14, 1978, in Danville, Kentucky, he was a son of James Clifford Emerson of Columbia and Kimberly Renee Durham (and Bruce) Edwards of Liberty. Quincy was a kindhearted and loving person who met everyone with a smile. He worked as a mail carrier for USPS and enjoyed his time off as an avid outdoorsman and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Gayle Moore Emerson, of Liberty; a son, Hunter (and Madison) Emerson of Liberty; a daughter, Alyssa (and Nick) Pittman of Liberty; two stepsons, Justin (and Michelle) Alcorn of Somerset and Zachary Morgan of Liberty; and six grandchildren, Weston Pittman, Myles Pittman, Anna Pittman, James Braxton Emerson, Brooklyn Alcorn, and Brailey Alcorn. Other survivors include five brothers, George (and Ginger) Emerson of Liberty, Byron Edwards of Liberty, Ronald (and Melissa) Satterly of Liberty, Scott (and Courtney) Emerson of Oneida, TN, and Joey (and Natasha) Emerson of Stanford; two sisters, Dawn Emerson of Stanford and Jessica (and Drew) Jones of Clinton, TN; friends, Joey Wethington and Dave Waters; and uncle, David Goode.

He is preceded in death by a sister, Misty Dawn Emerson; paternal grandparents, Clifford and Annie Emerson; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Mary Durham; and special friends, John Thomas, Bradley Dick, and James Richard Durham.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. J.R. Grant and Bro. Bud Cain officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Ridge Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be George Emerson, Byron Edwards, Pedro Satterly, Hunter Emerson, Zachary Morgan, Joey Wethington, Dave Waters, and Treyton Lyons.
