James “Jim” Merritt, of Campbellsville, KY, passed away on Friday, June 23, 2023, in Lexington, KY. He was 79.
Born July 13, 1943, in Washington Court House, OH, he was a son of the late James Porter Merritt and Helen Frazier Merritt. Jim was a retired truck driver for New Holland. He was a Trustee and member of Victory Church. Jim was a US Army and National Guard Veteran. He loved witnessing for the Lord and going camping.
Survivors include his dear wife, Rosa Johnson Merritt; son, Tony (and Darlene) Merritt of Washington Court House, OH; daughter, Tina (and Andy) Everetts of New Holland, OH; sisters, Laverne “Fifi” (and Gary) Paul of Kettering, OH; 3 granddaughters, Cortney, Tori, and Tifani; and 3 great-grandchildren, Madi, Alexander, and Lainey.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Barbara Fletcher.
Funeral services will be at 2:00PM on Monday, June 26, 2023, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Pastors Josh Estes and Vernon Luttrell officiating. Visitation will be after 12:00 on Monday at the funeral home. Graveside funeral services and military honors will be held at 12:00 Noon on Tuesday at the Washington Cemetery in Washington Court House, OH with Pastor Joe Duvall officiating.
