James Q. Ellis, of Dunnville, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at his home. He was 70.
Born on May 28, 1955, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Gordon Lee Ellis and Ina Fidell Sharp Ellis. James was a retired gasket maker for DANA Incorporated. He had formerly been employed with Steelworkers and OshKosh. He enjoyed fishing, watching FOX News, and spending time with his family.
James is survived by a daughter, Megan (and Jonathan Hanson) Ellis of Pellyton; a son, Bryan (and Tiffany) Luttrell of Walltown; companion, Ramona Ellis of Liberty; and six grandchildren, Mack Anderson-Hanson, Cheyenne Britt, Austin Britt, Breanna Hanson, Jordyn Luttrell, and Landon Lutrell. Other survivors include a sister, Patricka Brown of Yosemite; a brother-in-law, Mike Wilson of Dunnville; a special granddaughter, Grace Hanson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by two sisters, Sharon Gay Wilson and Dawn Gupton; a brother-in-law, Rick Brown; and two nephews, John Gupton and Wayne Brown.
No services will be held at this time. A memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
