James Durham Obituary

James Larry Durham, of Liberty, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 82.

Born on April 15, 1942, in Casey County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Clyde M. and Ada Marie Earls Durham. James was a retired switchboard operator for Kentucky Utilities. He served in the United States Air Force achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. He loved spending time with his cats, dogs, and most of all, his grandchildren. He also enjoyed drawing and driving his car.

James is survived by three sons, James (Debbie) Durham, John (Carla) Durham, and Robert Durham; two daughters, Elizabeth (Charles) Hartman and Barbara (Richard) Wilson; eighteen grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Carl Durham.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 4, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veteran’s Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 3, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
