Hilda Patton

Hilda Patton, of Liberty, passed away Thursday, June 4, 2026, at Liberty Care Center. She was 88.

Born on July 25, 1937, in Casey County, she was a daughter to the late Troy “Bud” Tucker and Nora Campbell Tucker. Hilda was a homemaker and a former owner of Patton Country Store on KY 1547. She was a former seamstress at Liberty Sports Wear, where she worked for several years. Hilda enjoyed canning, gardening and cooking, and was known for making the best chicken and dumplings and fried chicken. She was a true farmer’s wife. Hilda enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, and checking the cows with her husband, Junior. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Junior Patton whom she wed on February 8, 1956; three sons, Glenn (and Phyllis) Patton of Campbellsville, Phillip (and Andrea) Patton or Liberty and Brian (and Alisa) Patton of Columbia; a sister, Helen Allen of Nicholasville; a son-in-law, David Lloyd of Salt Lake, Utah; 11 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Hilda is preceded in death by her daughter, Diane Lloyd; two brothers, Neal Tucker and Marshall Tucker; and a sister, Nancy Tucker.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Stevie Allen and Bro. Paul Patton officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, and 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.  

Memorial contributions may take the form of donations In Memory of Hilda Patton to The Gideons International.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Allen, Derrick Patton, Mark Tucker, Tucker Pogue, Cody Hayes and Zachary Patton. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Pogue, Ben Ford and T.J. Wren.
