Helen Fay Bottoms

Helen Fay Bottoms, of Knifley, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2020, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 81.

Born on June 19, 1939, in Neatsville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Lindsey Holmes and Thelma Neat Bryant. Fay was a seamstress. She was a great cook, a loving person, and loved the color red.

Fay is survived by her husband, Buel Madison Bottoms of Knifley; three sons, Terry Madison Bottoms of Hope, Indiana; Johnny Ray (Paula) Bottoms of Bargersville, Indiana, and Richard Allen Bottoms of Knifley; a daughter, Debbie Fay (Larry) McCartey of Elizabethtown, Indiana; seventeen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Rachel Burton; and four brothers, Rollin (Ruby) Holmes, Ray (Jean) Holmes, Junior (Ann) Holmes, and Roger (Gale) Holmes.

She is preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Wright and Ruby Rice.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. EST on Saturday, August 1, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Please enter through the front doors (Campbellsville Street side) of the funeral home when you arrive for visitation. Social distancing guidelines must be followed by everyone in attendance. Facial coverings ARE required. 

The graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. EST on Sunday, August 2, 2020, at New Hope Cemetery in Adair County, Kentucky.
