Harold L. Haste, of Waynesburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Baptist Health in Louisville. He was 80.
Born June 5, 1943, in Casey County, KY, he was a son of the late Jason “Dad” Haste and Abby “Mom” Warren Haste. Harold was a longtime dairy farmer and member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. Harold retired from the Danville Housing Authority. He loved music and was a founding member of the Happy Travelers music group.
Harold was preceded in death by his dear wife, Mary “Sissy” Salyers Haste, who passed away on February 3,2018; brothers, Hobert and Virgil Haste; sisters, Sara Jane Hendricks and Mazie Morris; and great-granddaughter, Cheyanne Barrows.
Survivors include his son, Timothy (and Greta) Haste of Waynesburg; daughter, Lisa Haste Brown of Waynesburg; grandchildren, Corey (and Kenna) Barrows, Kelsey (and Derek) Vest, and Jaden Brown; and great-grandchildren, Grayci Barrows, Noah Vest, Abigail Vest, Fisher Vest, and Elyse Barrows.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM Monday, February 19, 2024, at Mt. Olive Christian Church with Bro. Greg Powell officiating. Burial will follow in the Salyers Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 6-9PM on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home and on Monday from 10AM until 1PM at the Mt. Olive Christian Church.
