Gwen Elizabeth Grove Miller, of Middleburg, passed away on Thursday, March 9, 2023, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 93.

Born on July 8, 1929, in Bradford, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Herman “Steve” Leslie and Lillian Elizabeth Rose Grove. Gwen married her childhood sweetheart Jerry Miller in 1947 and they lived and loved life together for fifty-six years. She was an active member at Corinth First Church of God. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and bird watching. She loved to serve others through volunteering with Meals on Wheels and at Camp JJ with children with special needs. She was forever in the choir and for years she served on the Women’s Presbytery for the Presbyterian Church in Pennsylvania as well as the Women’s Club in Port Allegany. Gwen served her family as a homemaker for most of her life and in her former years she was a school bus driver. Before her husband passed, they greatly enjoyed dancing and motorcycling together, and she supported him as a canoe racers wife. She will be remembered as an incredibly dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is survived by one son, Kevin (Kathy) Hanley of Portville, New York; five daughters, Kris deDiego of Phoenix, Arizona, Jan Treat of Angola, Indiana, Sue (Glenn) Twigg of South Waverly, Pennsylvania, Hedy (Curtis) Hopewell of Middleburg, Kentucky, and Holly (Gregg) Schena of Port Allegany, Pennsylvania; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald “Jerry” Martin Miller; two sons, Gregory Miller and Kim Miller; a daughter, Jill Kio; and a brother, Merlyn “Murph” Grove.
