Gregory Lloyd Means, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center in Danville. He was 60.
Born on January 11, 1962, in Lincoln County, Kentucky, he was a son of the late Lloyd and Nellie B. Lane Means. Greg was a deputy jailer for the Casey County Detention Center for over twenty years. He was retired from over twenty years of service as manager of the Broughton Hills apartments. Greg also formerly worked at Fruit of the Loom and Abe’s Pic-Pac. He was former chairman of the board at Poplar Springs Fire Department and a member of Cowden’s Chapel Church of God. At Cowden’s Chapel, he was a board member, secretary, treasurer, and former Sunday school teacher.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny Noe Means, who he wed on July 6, 1984; daughters, Stephanie (Johnnie) McAninch, Ashley (Daniel) Cole, and Telisa Bri Hayden; a grandson, Jonah Slade Cole; two brothers, Barry Means and Brian Means; a sister, Tami Campbell; and special extended family, Jessica Edwards, Landon Noe, and Erin Noe.
In addition to his parents, Greg is preceded in death by a brother, Troy Means.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Vest officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Vest, Matthew Davenport, Luke Roy, Clinton Noe, Roger Means, David Carmicle, Justin Swango, and John Thomas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Earl, William, Elvin, and Prep Noe.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Shriners Hospital for Children.
