Glenda Sue Gardner-Ewers, 77, passed away peacefully at her home in Liberty, Kentucky, on February 24, 2026.
Born on March 26, 1948, in Lebanon, Indiana, Glenda spent most of her life in Central California, where she built a beautiful life centered around faith, family, and friendships. No matter where she lived, she carried warmth and light with her, touching the hearts of everyone she met.
She is survived by her sons, Brent Latona (Janice), Steven Latona (Danielle); and her daughter, Pam Holliday.
Glenda’s love for her family was immeasurable. She was a devoted mother to her sons, Brent and Steven. Her love for her children was steadfast and unconditional, and she was endlessly proud of each of them.
She was a cherished grandmother to Amber Silva (Ryan), Jarod Latona (Katie), Mackenzie Latona (Bobby), Jason Latona (Savannah), Ben Latona, John Brandle (Yulisa), Francine Landry (Shannon), William Brandle (Jessica), Michael and Michelle Ewers.
She was a proud great-grandmother to Addison, Colton, Dakota, Kacee and soon to be born Raelynn. Preceding her in death is her beloved great-granddaughter, Lorelai. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life. She adored them beyond words, celebrated their every accomplishment, and held each of them close to her heart. She was indeed everyone’s biggest cheerleader.
Glenda is also survived by her brothers, Kent (Joellen) and Mark; her sisters, Darlene and Debbie (Leonard); and many extended family members who will forever treasure her memory.
Her love extended far beyond her immediate family. There wasn’t a human being she didn’t care for. Everyone she met felt her kindness and genuine concern. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved, and she truly touched countless hearts throughout her life.
Glenda had a deep love for the Lord, which guided her life and shaped the compassion she showed to others. She found joy in all things pretty and purple, delighted in a good shopping spree—often more than she planned—and had a well-known sweet tooth that she happily indulged. She loved playing games and had an undeniable knack for winning, often with a playful smile that made it impossible to mind losing to her.
Above all else, Glenda loved. She loved her sons, her grandchildren, her great-grandchildren, her family, her friends, and every soul she encountered. She was loved by all because she loved all so freely and so well. Her legacy of faith, kindness, laughter, and boundless love will live on in the many lives she touched.
If Glenda had one piece of advice to give it was to seek the Lord, learn His word and feel His love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Celebration of Life for Glenda will be at 12 noon on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at Gateway Park, 90 E. KY 70, Liberty, KY.
