Geneva Carman, of Kings Mountain, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Liberty Care and Rehab. She was 98.
Born on June 5, 1927, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Lucy Roberts Leigh. Geneva was a homemaker and a devoted Christian. She was a member of Grove Ridge Baptist Church for over sixty-five years. She loved quilting. gardening, and canning.
She is survived by two sons, Garry E. (and Geanette) Carman and Jimmy (and Sandra) Carman; a daughter, Betty Yeast; grandchildren, Bryan (and Kathy) Carman, Sean (and Christa) Carman, Tracy Griffin, Melissa (and Shawn) Gibson, Jeff (and Lynn) Carman, Rosalind (and Bruce) Pheasant, and Rebecca Stanley; great-grandchildren, Tabby Allen, Katie Amaya, Zach Carman, Garry K. Carman, Scott Carman, Kayla Carman, Brianna Martinez, Jacob Griffin, Chelsea Bryant, Devin Gibson, Dylan Gibson, John Carman, Justin Yeast, Michaela Montgomery, Victoria Miller, Clara Stanley, and Carter Stanley; and great-great-grandchildren, Marlee Allen, Myla Allen, Arlo Amaya, Beau Amaya, Cole Amaya, Paisley Bryant, Landrie Griffin, Kollyns Martinez, Aalyria Hawkins, and Gracie Yeast. Other survivors include several nieces and nephews; and a special sister-in-law, Helen Leigh.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Carman; a son, Billy Joe Carman; grandson, Grant Miller; great-grandson, Hunter Miller; and siblings, Carlos Leigh, Ralph Leigh, Fred Leigh, Jr., Mae Phipps, Mabel Irvin, Josephine Phipps, Charles Hines, Bidwell Hines, Clay Leigh, Jeretha Leigh, and Huell Leigh.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Grove Ridge Baptist Church with Bro. Kevin Pittman and Bro. Randy Watts officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Ridge Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Grove Ridge Baptist Church and from 10:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Grove Ridge Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Devin Gibson, Dylan Gibson, Zachary Carman, Sean Carman, Jacob Griffin, and Justin Yeast.
