Garry “Pete” Vaughn, of Liberty, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. He was 71 years 2 months and 8 days of age.
Born on December 2, 1953, in Madison County, Indiana, he was a son of the late Rufus and Vera Brown Vaughn. Pete was a Security Officer at OshKosh for many years and retired from Central Kentucky Meats. He enjoyed the outdoors, being on a boat, and fishing. Pete loved square dancing, vintage trains, and his John Deere tractor.
He is survived by his sister, Vickie Ann Vaughn of Liberty; a special nephew, Martin Vaughn (and April); sisters-in-law, Donna Vaughn and Nancy Vaughn; special friend, Peggy Sanqunetti; and a host of other nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Mable Jean Vaughn Burton; and three brothers, Garnett Vaughn, Larry Vaughn, and Victor Dan Vaughn.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 13, 2025, at 11:00AM at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Chris Humphrey and Bro. David Terwilliger officiating. Burial will follow in Whited Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 12, 2025 from 5:00PM-8:00PM at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
