Frances “Fran” Rubarts, of Liberty, passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her home. She was 76.
She was born September 21, 1948, in Lincoln County, Ky to the late Arnel O. Coffman and the late Irene Hatchell Coffman Able.
Fran retired from the Casey County Board of Education after 22 years of service, where she worked in the lunchroom at Phillips Elementary School and retired while serving Walnut Hill Elementary School. She was a member of New Life Tabernacle Church and was a former Red Hatter. Fran loved watching the birds in her bird sanctuary and had a passion for handmade crafts. She and her late husband, Lewis Rubarts, used to travel abroad, attending many festivals. He loved woodworking and she loved cloth crafts.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Lewis, she is preceded in death by her brother, Raymond “Bill” Coffman.
Fran is survived by her sons, Steven Preston (and Cheryl) of Greenville, RI and Barry Lamb (and Dara) of Winchester, TN; her daughters, Alice Slaughter (and Michael) of Elizabethtown, KY, Renita Grissom of Benton, KY and Marilyn McCauley of Lexington; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Curtis Breeden officiating the services. Burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, January 3, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
