Eugenia “Jean” A. Wethington, of Louisville, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center. She was 86.
Eugenia was born March 23, 1939, in Casey County, to the late Clyde and Lucille Wethington Foster.
Eugenia was a homemaker. She loved bingo and gambling on slot machines. Eugenia was a member of Incarnation Catholic Church in Louisville, Ky and a former member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Clementsville, Ky.
Eugenia is survived by her loving husband, Bernal Lee Wethington, of whom she wed December 1, 1956; a son, Todd (and Susan) Wethington of Louisville; two daughters, Cindy (and Greg) Polley and Jackie Mattingly (and Rick) both of Louisville; three sisters, Verna Lewis of Somerset, Janice Coffman of Louisville and Joy (and Joe) Traylor of Liberty; six grandchildren, Kyle, Kasey, Sheila, Shelly, Amanda and Ben; nine great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, David Brent Wethington; her daughter, Pamela Sue Kessler; two brothers, Charles Foster and James Foster; three sisters, Dorothy Clements, Louise Lewis and Frances Smith.
The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Bernard Catholic Church with Father Pepper officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. There will be a rosary prayer service at 7:30 PM Tuesday with Deacon Joe Dant officiating.
