Edith Elaine Coleman, formerly of Liberty, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation. She was 85.
Born on November 25, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late Clyde Vernon Myers and Mary E. Kelly Darling. Edith was a homemaker that loved to cook. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Theresa McDermott of Greenwood, Indiana and Samantha (Mark) Jones of Louisville; five sons, Patrick McDermott of Indianapolis, Sherman (Tina) Coleman of Highland, Charles (Nancy) L. Coleman of Middleburg, Hershell Coleman of Berea, and Johnny (Vanessa) Coleman of Hustonville. Other survivors include three sisters, June Johnson, Susie Balfoort, and Donna Kay Williams; three brothers, Leroy Darling, Gary Darling, and Roger Darling; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Coleman, whom passed away on April 6, 2002; three daughters, Mary Stacey, Rose Reynolds and Joann Gerkey; two sons, Michael McDermott and Jerry Ray Coleman; her step-mother, Annabelle Myers; a brother, Paul Darling; and three sisters, Darlene Darling, Pat Burgess, and Wanda Rolland.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Jeff Edwards officiating. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to assist the family in offsetting funeral expenses.
Pallbearers will be Brandon Jones, Dillon Jones, Josh Coleman, Johnny Coleman, Johnny Coleman ll, and Chris Coleman.
