Diana Gwen Lynn Atwood

Diana Gwen Lynn Atwood, of Liberty, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Liberty Care & Rehab.  She was 74.

She was born on January 13, 1951, in Casey County to the late George and Sylvia Cochran Lynn.  Gwen worked for a short time at Osh Kosh and retired from American Greetings in Danville.  She was of the Baptist faith and loved reading & traveling.  But her favorite thing was being a memaw to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Atwood; a grandson, Brandon Atwood; her brothers, Garland and Estil Lynn and her twin brother, Donald; and her sister, Patsy Sizemore.

Gwen is survived by her son, John Atwood of Liberty; her brothers, Jerry Lynn (and Dena), George Lynn and Jim Lynn, all of Liberty; her sisters, Susan Thomas (and Donald) of Lexington and Eva Snow of Hustonville; her grandchildren, Alyssa Gertler (and Tucker), Jeffrey Atwood and Allison Siler (and Dalton); and her great-grandchildren, Mia Gertler, Evie Gertler, Kade Siler and Daxton Siler.

Cremation rites were chosen. A Celebration of Life gathering will be on a later date.  In memory of Gwen, memorial gifts may be made to the American Cancer Society.
