Diana May Hack, 70, of Liberty, passed from this life on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at Liberty Care Center. Born on March 22, 1954, in Casey County, Kentucky, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thomas May and the late Lorene Wethington May.
Diana devoted nearly 30 years to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Liberty Care Center. She was a faithful member of Liberty Assembly of God, where she found great joy in gospel music and close fellowship with her church family. Outside of work and church, Diana found simple pleasures that added sweetness to her days—most notably, she loved a good slice of lemon meringue pie. Guided by her steadfast faith, Diana prayed daily that her family and friends would come to a relationship with Jesus before it was too late, and that God would open the eyes of all unbelievers.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas May and Lorene Wethington May; her brothers, Thomas May, Jr., Jerry May, Gary May, Eugene May, Gib May, and Edward May; and her sisters, Phyllis Wallace, Evelyn Edwards, and Delois Smallwood.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Eric May (and Ronda), Jody May, Joshua Hack, and Justin Short, all of Liberty; her daughters, Michelle Allen (and Roger) of Liberty, Amy May of Liberty, and Rachel Hack of Russell Springs; her sisters, Joyce Edwards (and Gerald), Donna Morgan, and Judy Godbey; along with her fifteen grandchildren—Sarah, Katie, Caleb, Joshua, Joseph, Sam, Hunter, Kloe, Jacob, C.J., Aaron, Cadence, Jaxon, Waylon, and Mason—and nineteen great-grandchildren. Diana was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing laughter, and her enduring faith.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, with Bro. Russell Shaffer officiating. She will be laid to rest at the Grace Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Eric May, Jacob Harris, C.J. May, Justin Short, Caleb Allen and Josh Hack. Honorary pallbearers will be Joseph Allen and Jody May.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home to help offset funeral expenses. Arrangements for Ms. Diana May Hack have been entrusted to McKinney-Brown Funeral Home, where an online guestbook is available at www.mckinneybrown.com.
Diana’s caring nature and steadfast devotion will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her. May her legacy of kindness—and her daily prayer for others to know Jesus—continue to guide and uplift her family and friends in the days ahead.
