David Wayne Dean, of Lawrenceburg, passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Baptist Health Hardin. He was 63.
Born on October 24, 1962, in Bell County, Texas, he was a son of the late George Wayne Dean and Carolyn Sue “Suzie” Zimmerman Dean. David proudly served as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force before dedicating twenty-four years to the Lexington Fire Department as a firefighter from 1989-2014. In his retirement, he enjoyed woodworking and traveling.
He is survived by a son, Brian (and J.D. Kallin) Dean of Lawrenceburg; a sister, Susan (and Gabriel) Onusko of Radcliff; and a brother, Paul (and Ninette) Dean of South Dakota.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Dwight Coffman officiating. Burial will follow in Peavey Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. The Lexington Fire Department Honor Guard will stand guard.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Firefighter Cancer Support Network at 2600 West Olive Avenue, 5th Floor-PMB 608, Burbank, CA 91505.
