David Allen Wethington

David Allen Wethington, of Liberty, KY, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2023. He was 29 years old.

David was born January 25, 1994, in Taylor County, KY, to James and Marsha Knifley Wethington. David worked as a tree trimmer for Asplundh. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and four-wheeling. More than anything, David Allen loved being outdoors.

David is survived by his parents, James and Marsha Knifley Wethington, of Liberty; his son and daughter; his sister, Cindy (Tyler) Gillock, of Knifley; his niece and nephew, Destiny and Dylan Rhoades; his girlfriend, Shelby Taylor; and Shelby’s son, River Taylor.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, November 9, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home. Bro. Alex Cox will officiate with burial to follow in St. Bernard Cemetery. A visitation will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home.

David’s family requests those in attendance to wear camouflage clothing in his memory.

Pallbearers will be Steve Pittman, Kenan Knifley, Chris Key, John Couch, Jeremy Knifley, and Travis Buis.
