Clara Mae Clater

Clara Mae Clater, of Elkhorn, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at her home. She was 80.

Born on March 23, 1945, in Louisville, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late John and Ethel Presley Shackles. Clara enjoyed raising animals and above all, spending time with her family. She retired from Inland Container.

She is survived by two daughters, Donna Turner Almaashari and Mary Elmore (and Gabby Reyes), both of Elkhorn; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Wesley King Clater, Sr., who passed away on January 27, 2023; and three sons, Wesley Clater, Jr., Joseph Heffinger, and Donnie Epperson.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
